Getting the Vaccine: Amar's Experience

Hey EverStrong family!

I’ve been getting lots of questions recently about my experience with the COVID-19 vaccine. As many of you know, as of February 2nd, I have received both doses of the vaccine, and I thought I would share my experience here for those who are curious!

I received the Moderna vaccine at the Kaiser building in Bellevue.

The First dose:

Date – Sunday, January 10th

I experienced minimal symptoms from the first dose. My arm was sore for a few days, and I experienced slight fatigue, but I was back to 100% by the following Wednesday.

The Second dose:

Date - Sunday, February 7nd at 8:50am

With this dose, I had no immediate symptoms. Arm soreness began a few hours post injection.

Around 4pm that day, I noted increased fatigue. I got to bed at 9pm, knowing that most people experience symptoms 12-24 hours post injections, and I preemptively took Tylenol before bed.

 Chills began at 11:30pm.

I had signs and symptoms of fever throughout the night. However, I took my temp multiple times with no fever noted.

 Chills dissipated at 3:30am.

The rest of the night was a lot of waking up every 20 mins.

After that first night, no further symptoms from the shot were noted, just the remnants of the fatigue from not sleeping Sunday night into Monday.

The arm soreness lasted 3 days. By Thursday, I was back in the gym and able to do everything without issues.

After everything, I would 100% recommend it.
