These past few months have been ROUGH, but we are endlessly inspired by the resilience and strength of our local community. So many of our local businesses have had to work hard to adapt and overcome during this difficult time, and we’d like to take some time to celebrate their accomplishments.
Over the new few months, we will be highlighting some incredible local businesses who have gone above and beyond to respond to this crisis. These businesses are 100% built EverStrong – they are strong in every sense of the word.
Our first Built EverStrong business is State Street’s own Oyster Creek Canvas Co.

Founded in 2000 by owner Greg Keeler, Oyster Creek Canvas Co. specializes in custom marine canvas solutions for “every type of boat imaginable.” When the shutdowns began, though, Oyster Creek Canvas shifted operations toward Personal Protective Equipment.
When we spoke to Owner Greg Keeler on the phone, he mentioned that this is not the first time the business has adapted to a crisis, and we were in AWE. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Oyster Creek shifted course to help manufacture emergency response shelters. And now they’re back at it, manufacturing face masks and creating an innovative solution to the distinct lack of human connection that can come from all-day mask-wearing.

Enter the Humanity Shield™.
We stumbled on the product when Henry’s wife was looking for a safe PPE solution for checking in on her parents. Top priorities? Keeping them safe while making the most out of a short, socially-distanced visit. Oyster Creek happened to be running a little giveaway at the time, which caught her eye, and she immediately ordered 4 – an order they were able to fulfill the very next day.
